Hello, my name is Eiman. I am an integrative psychotherapist and a clinical supervisor.
How I work is in a compassionate way, through listening, kindness and empathy. My aim is to facilitate a safe space for you to explore and understand yourself, your past and your present. I can understand how difficult it may be to talk about feelings, aspirations and past experiences. But having someone listen to you and accept what you bring to therapy in a non-judgemental way is fundamental to the therapeutic relationship! That is the first step in this process!
I am originally from Sudan and am able to provide therapy in two languages: English and Arabic.
Qualifications and Experience
I have a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy awarded by Middlesex University and Metanoia Institute and a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling awarded by Metanoia Institute. I also hold a certificate in supervision through an intersectional lens. I have completed a rigorous 5 year’s Master’s Degree training in Integrative Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute. I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by both their ethical frameworks and guidelines for counselling and psychotherapy. I offer integrative psychotherapy to adults on individual face to face basis.
I have more than five years of clinical experience working with clients at low cost counselling services in West London including Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Services (MCPS) and Ealing Abbey Counselling Services (EACS). I have worked with clients presenting with a wide range of issues including grief; depression; anxiety; suicidal thoughts; panic attacks; posttraumatic stress disorder (ptsd); trauma; childhood trauma; work related issues; divorce and separation; bullying; FGM; domestic abuse, and struggling with issues of identity and sexuality.
You will also find me listed in the UKCP directory; the BACP’s it’s good to talk therapist’s directory and the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN) directory.
My Background
I am a qualified medical doctor and hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health. I have worked for over 15 years in the charity sector. The focus of my work was in reproductive health and rights, in particular on the issue of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). My work used to involve program development, reporting and developing projects. Personally, the pivotal change was when I started doing research and working directly with the women. This was an ‘aha moment’ for me as I started having more direct contact and hear the stories and some of the struggles some of the women have faced in their lives.
My past experiences in life and in work have enrichened my understanding of people and relationships. It has also influenced my way in working as an integrative psychotherapist. Living in the UK as a woman from an ethnic minority group, has given me deeper understanding of some of the difficulties that may be faced by ethnic minority communities.
